Solar Energy One Of My Interest.

While on a ship about a year ago I decided I would write an ebook on solar energy, well I did how ever I have yet to make a web site to promote it so I have decided to make some comment on my blog on solar energy.

The sun warms the earth at 100 watt of energy per square foot per hour, according to my research.

All fresh water that we drink comes from solar energy in the form of rain, snow, and hail.

The wind is created by the sun heating the land and sea as the earth rotates in it's orbit around the sun.

Our hydroelectric dams are a form of solar energy, we just do not think of them in that manner.

Wind Generators, windmills are also solar energy products.

Photoelectric or Solar Panels provide electricity from the sun.

All creatures on earth use the sun as their sole source of heat except man.

Guess that is a good start, to continue; my use of solar energy in my younger days was when my father decided to build a solar hot water heater on the roof of the family house on the island of Guam so we modified the plumbing for one of the hot water heaters in the house ( we had 2) using a bunch of  pipes that he had from renovating and rebuilding the house.

Guess I was 12 at this time we took a large piece of aluminum plate that we had secured it to the back of the poured in place concrete basket ball board braces to make the most of the suns energy. This would be come the reflector. Then we put together the pipes and elbows to create a grid that spaced them at 4 inches apart and 6 feet long then tied it into the cold water line of the house and to the intake of the hot water tank.

We painted everything black, then waited to see what would happen; well it worked to a point when using the water the few gallons of water in the piping did per heat the water but not enough to keep the water hot as it went to the tank. But was kind of fun to build.

I have learned much more about solar products since then and am still learning. There is so much information on the Internet on solar energy that I really do not know where to start, so I will leave the rest to my next post on the subject.
